On 17th July 2025, Goethals Memorial School proudly hosted the Br. Henry McGann Inter-School Quiz Competition—a prestigious intellectual showdown that brought together some of the brightest minds from Kurseong and Darjeeling.
The day began with a solemn and symbolic lighting of diyas, followed by an inaugural address that set the tone for an event rooted in knowledge, curiosity, and camaraderie.
Two Categories, One Spirit of Excellence
The competition unfolded in two segments:
?? ICSE Category (Classes IX–X)
Six thrilling rounds kept the audience on edge as teams battled it out with speed and precision. Our very own team—Amog, Neev Gupta, and Aum Banerjee—delivered a commendable performance, securing third place amidst fierce competition. St. Joseph’s School emerged victorious, taking home the top honors.
?? ISC Category (Classes XI–XII)
After a refreshing lunch break, the senior round began—and it was nothing short of spectacular. Representing Goethals were Sumnima Rai, Rahul Chettri, and Shreyan Bandopadhyay, who dazzled with their quick thinking and confident responses. Their stellar performance earned them the championship title, bringing pride and joy to the entire school community.
More Than Just a Competition
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where our Principal, Br. Milles Allam, congratulated all participants and winners. In his closing remarks, he emphasized the deeper value of such events: “Quizzing is not just about answers—it’s about asking better questions. It builds curiosity, sharpens thinking, and fosters lifelong learning.”
