Description:
Leadership is not merely about holding a title—it is about making an impact, inspiring others, and influencing change. With this guiding principle, Goethals Memorial School held its much-anticipated Investiture Ceremony on 7th March at the Assembly Place, officially entrusting its young leaders with responsibilities for the academic year ahead.
The solemn occasion commenced with a heartfelt prayer led by Mrs. Suman Lata Pradhan, setting a reflective tone for the ceremony. Mr. Paul Singh, the Boarding In-Charge, compered the event with grace and enthusiasm, ensuring the seamless flow of proceedings. The highlight of the ceremony was the oath-taking ritual, administered by the Principal, Br. Miles Allams, as the newly appointed captains, vice-captains, prefects, and class monitors pledged to lead with integrity, responsibility, and dedication. In an inspiring show of unity, the entire student body also took an oath to support their leaders in fostering a disciplined and harmonious school environment.
This year’s student leaders include:
?Captains: Jay Sukhdev Khati, Rudraaditya Singh, Shivasai Rai, and Johan Pradhan.
?Vice-Captains: Sabin Moktan, Adrita Kundu, Nawed Naushad, and Daksh Kumar.
?Prefects: Rahul Chhetri, Manjushree Lama, Pragya Khawas, Aranya Lama, Alok Kumar Chaudhary, and Abhay Lama.
In a moment of pride and honor, Br. Miles Allams conferred badges to the Captains, the Senior Coordinator presented badges to the Vice-Captains, while the Junior Coordinator entrusted the Prefects with their official insignia. Class monitors received their badges from their respective class teachers, marking their official induction as role models in their classrooms.
Adding to the spirit of the occasion, the school choir, under the direction of Mr. Sanjay Singh, delivered an uplifting rendition of ‘We Are the Champions,’ symbolizing the triumph of commitment and perseverance. The atmosphere resonated with a deep sense of duty as Pragya Khawas, on behalf of the entire student body, took the pledge of loyalty and obedience, reaffirming their collective responsibility toward the school’s growth and values.
In his address, Br. Miles Allams congratulated the newly appointed leaders, emphasizing the importance of leadership as a responsibility rather than a privilege. He extended his appreciation to the staff and students whose efforts made the event a resounding success. The ceremony concluded with a prayer by Br. Samuel, followed by the entire school singing the school anthem in unison, echoing the school’s timeless motto: ‘Do All Things Well.’
The Investiture Ceremony was not just an event—it was a moment of inspiration and a call to action. As these young leaders step forward to guide their peers, they carry with them the values of dedication, integrity, and service. We wish them the very best in leading Goethals Memorial School toward new heights of excellence. With teamwork and commitment, the future indeed looks bright!
